We inform you that, on September 13-14, 2024, the Pediatric and Neonatal Mechanical Ventilation Course will be organized in Cluj Napoca.
The course is held under the auspices of ESPNIC (European society for pediatric intensive care, pediatric critical care & neonatal intensive care) and is organized by the Interdisciplinary Study Association in the Field of Emergency Medicine, the Cluj Napoca University of Medicine and Pharmacy and the Emergency Clinical Hospital for Children Cluj-Napoca.
The instructors are experts of the respiratory failure section of the European Society: Dr. Alberto Medina Villanueva (Spain) – course director, Dr. Vicent Modesto (Spain), Dr. Yolanda López (Spain), Dr. Cristina Camilo (Portugal), Paula Avram and Yaya Egberongbe (UK).
The course language is English.
The purpose of the course is to increase the quality of the medical act in Transylvania and to initiate the formation of a team of Romanian instructors to support this course in Romania.
At this edition (the second in Romania, after the one in Bucharest in 2023), 30 doctors from the specialties of ATI, Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics will participate.
The venue of the course is ClujHub Conference Centre, with the address Central Shopping Centre, 3rd floor, Regele Ferdinand 22-26, 400110, Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
The price of the onsite course is 400 Euro. Before attending the face to face course you will be expected to have completed the online course. The price of the online course is 50 euro.

- To review the basic respiratory physiology
- To understand the principles of mechanical ventilation
- To become familiar with conventional modes of ventilation
- To improve understanding and interpretation of ventilator waveforms
- To troubleshoot patient-ventilator issues including asynchrony
- To understand the advantages and limitations of mechanical ventilation
- To get familiar with transport ventilation
- To review the basic principles of non-invasive mechanical ventilation.
All scientific content is conducted in English (online course, the book and face to face course).
